Looks like they added an User Agent check to prevent downloads with curl, therefore builds fail with HTTP 403 errors. Adding the following to the PKGBUILD fixes that. Could you please update the package?

DLAGENTS=('http::/usr/bin/curl -qgb "" -fLC - --retry 3 --user-agent Mozilla --retry-delay 3 -o %o %u')

I could fix the error by looking into the build specification of the RPM package contained in the file epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series.spec, which is part of the downloaded RPM source package: Replacing the two lines

aclocal
libtoolize

of the PKGBUILD's build function by

autoreconf -f -i

solved the problem and let me compile the package successfully.

The package build fails with

configure: error: cannot find required auxiliary files: compile
make: *** [Makefile:242: config.status] Error 1
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().

For the full log, see here.

exact same issue as meredrica. I can't see relevant datas in the debug log :/

On a fresh install with latest CUPS the printer filter crashes on signal 11 from /var/log/cups/error_log: D [19/Oct/2017:18:51:46 +0200] [Job 9] PID 17715 (/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series/cups/lib/filter/epson_inkjet_printer_filter) crashed on signal 11. I can add the printer via the CUPS web interface and the LCD on the printer shows 'printing' for a short moment. Any idea?

I deleted my previous comments because it seems that it was a problem with my install. Today i reinstalled arch on my machine and the aur4 package builds just fine. Something must have been wrong with my old install.

Ok, i skimmed the two pkgbuilds and there seems to be no major difference. That is really strange.

Today i tried the old aur tarball and voila, builds like a charm. So it seems that there must be something wrong with the new pkgbuild. At least i can print again ;)

I didn't change anything. Just downloaded the snapshot and then makepkg'd it. Bash is my shell.
