@DDoSolitary Indeed... The archive I used had extra (unused) stuff at the end of the file. I think it happened because I ran the download script twice in parallel by mistake and forgot to clean everything before restarting the script. My bad !

Hello, the SHA256 checksum of rc3 in the PKGBUILD file seems to be incorrect.

@PocketSam

Weird, it should not happen. On my side the file has the correct permissions in the package:

$ tar -tvf firefox-beta-bin-73.0rc1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so
-rwxr-xr-x root/root     14352 2020-02-05 08:15 opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so

After updating I've had an error firefox-beta XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so: /opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so: cannot open shared object file: Permission denied Couldn't load XPCOM.

It was due to lash of permissions ls /opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so -lah -r-------- 1 root root 15K фев 4 19:03 /opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so

So I fixed it with sudo chmod 755 /opt/firefox-beta/libmozgtk.so

@skewty

Thanks for the fix!

I could not reproduce the issue on GNOME wayland previously because I wasn't forcing Firefox to use wayland. Now I see that the --name flag does fix the issue (and using both --class and --name makes it work on Xorg and Wayland).

@symen I figured it out. You need to use "--name" parameter under Wayland for it to associate correctly.

It works for me with: "Exec=firefox-beta --name "Firefox Beta" %u"

@symen that didn't seem to help. I just downloaded the v71beta and it had the same issue. I installed Firefox Development from stable repo and it is working properly.

@skewty

I removed StartupNotify=true from the desktop file and it seems to work fine now. Let me know if this issue still occur on your end.
