@supermario Sorry, wrong link. I meant www.foobar2000.org/files/foobar2000-x64_v${pkgver}.exe (remove -x64 if needed).

I agree with @0RF30, it would be nice to keep using the 32-bit version.

(FWIW, changing the dependency from p7zip to 7zip breaks this package on Manjaro, where p7zip is apparently the only alternative.)

Hi, Most of old Foobar2000 components (plugins) are not working on x64 version because they haven't been rewritten for x64 version (and probably will never be at this point) . These components (upnp, convolver, room and headphones parametric equalizers, VST...) are mainly why I keep using Foobar2000 instead of linux native players, as none of them is even a remotely close match to Foobar regarding these functionalities. So it would be nice to keep the 32bit version alive if that's not too much hassle. Best regards.

@aliu if you try to download the exe file directly in the sources array the download site returns you an HTML page not the actual executable so we need to do this workaround
all: I have updated this package to use the 64bit executable on 64bit systems now that the upstream 7zip package is able to extract it. If you have problems please report them and I'll rollback to the 32bit executable even on 64bit systems until we can find a fix

I wonder if there's a reason this scrapes the URL from the download page instead of directly downloading from https://www.foobar2000.org/getfile/foobar2000_v${pkgver}.exe ?

it has updated to 2.24.1, needs version bump

@phonemic : That's not Foobar2000 related, FB2K doesn't resample, unless told to (conf or plugin). If you want bit perfect output to a DAC, just use winetricks and change pulse to alsa for your Foobar wine prefix (if you need EQ use plugin inside foobar), or look into pipewire conf to avoid resampling or change resampling quality.

@AlexanderGedz I think it's because foobar is resampling hi-res files to 48Khz rather than playing them at the native sample rate. There's probably DSP enabled. I'll dig around.

@phonemic Well, I can't say for sure as it's pretty subjective, but I can't hear any difference when playing the same lossless files using foobar2000 vs. any other music player on my system. They do sound kinda compressed though — in my case regardless of the program; but if there's any issue here, it's not related to foobar specifically.
