The aur package gpu-screen-recorder-git was renamed to gpu-screen-recorder. Install gpu-screen-recorder instead or you may experience issues.

@DEC05EBA I guess it's a good thing that the bug is not on your end so you don't really have to change much

@creepergd another user once had a similar problem. At that time it turned out to likely be a hardware problem with his speakers.

I'm trying another fix where I installed realtime-privileges and then added my user to that group to see if that helps with anything.

@DEC05EBA I don't think the was having anything to do with v4l2-loopback at all because I made a fresh reinstall recently and the program crashed again the same way. I think it's a bug with just pipewire in general because it still also gets off-sync on its own sometimes.

@creepergd ok thanks, good to know. somebody else once had issue with gpu screen recorder freezing and at that time it turned out to be faulty sound hardware that made pipewire freeze. It happens :/

@DEC05EBA I think I may have found the problem regarding the seemingly random crashing. I am very sorry for bothering you about it so much, but I believe I narrowed it down to something called v4l2loopback-dc-dkms, which is a dependency for droidcam. I think it was the same thing causing some audio delay issues in general on my system, and I believe it fucking with pipewire to be the reason GPU-Screen-Recorder was crashing. I will get back to you on that eventually if this is the case, but for now I haven't uninstalled it yet, just un-modprobed for now.

@creepergd It's a bit hard since I cant reproduce it myself so I would need a gdb output from you. Add me on matrix (@dec05eba:glowers.club) if you want to help find the issue.

@DEC05EBA the bug still happened even with nvidia overclock turned off and quality set to high

@creepergd ooh ok gotcha, I thought you meant the video itself had video/audio desync since somebody else reported something similar not too long ago

creepergd commented on 2023-05-10 19:06 (UTC)

@DEC05EBA Are you telling me to switch my recording container? When I was referring to audio desync I wasn't talking about an actual recorded video I was talking about. Like the audio coming out of my headphones from pipewire was decynced.
