matthewq337 flagged jlink-software-and-documentation out-of-date on 2024-09-18 (UTC) for the following reason: "should not conflict/provide with it's self".

Could they elaborate please? The only conflict is with an old package spelled j-link-xxx…

You're right, I just updated the PKGBUILD. Thanks for the tip!

I just checked the segger downloads page and I don't see V7.96o listed. Maybe they removed it? There's V7.96[a-j, p, and q].

AlexisPolti commented on 2024-07-01 14:25 (UTC)

I think the issue is on your side. The script that I use to update the PKBUILD ensures the md5 is correct

I tried to update to version 60:7.96o-1 this morning using yay. The file JLink_Linux_796o_x86_64.tgz failed the md5 check sum validity check. Is this a known issue, or is the issue on my side?

For an unknown reason, *.tgz packages do not include JScopeExe, but for example *.deb packages do. Would you consider switching source archives to *.deb or some other containing JScopeExe?

Ok, SEGGER support replied:

Thank you for notifying us about this.

This is not intentional.

J-Scope will be part of the tgz package for future releases, including the next release, planned for later today.

Oh, and just now I noticed they released v7.94e I tested it and it works for me: I can connect to my target and flash.

Version 7.94e is out, is should fix the problems

Thank you for reverting.

Last week I encountered the same issue (failure to connect) and reached out to Segger support. Today they confirmed that v7.94d is broken in Linux. Their response:

this is not a hardware issue, but rather a software issue (only occuring under Linux) which was introduced with V7.94d.

We are working on a hotfix/rollback and plan to release it this afternoon (within a few hours).

OK I'm reverting to v7.94c
