It seems I spoke too fast. I have a severe problem. I'm wondering if it's some problem with the compilation, as this seems like the kind of bug that wouldn't make it to a stable release:
When one imports and image, the preview window will appear, from here, whether we change any of the default options or not, when we click accept the program will instantly crash with a segmentation fault.

can confirm it works removing libmagick6

It's a conflict between having libmagick7 and libmagick6.
If you can remove libmagick6 and/or build a clean chroot you should have success. I believe this could be fixed in the PKGBUILD using pkgconf/pkg-config in some manner but I don't have the time to do it (if someone does and comments I would be happy to review and merge)

With qt 5.11 kxstitch won't build by default, I've reported this to the mailinglist [0]
You can use the patch here [1] and updates to the PKGBUILD [2] here and should be able to get it to build

here's a gist for 2.1.0 from a local PKGBUILD: https://gist.github.com/enckse/346512e4252fb48a73966da0b792bd1d

I believe, with patches I suggested before, if you are using imagemagick6 you MUST make sure to install libmagick6 AND REMOVE libmagick.
That appears to also support building this. So if you have: libmagick + imagemagick OR libmagick6 + imagemagick6 you should be able to build
