@iykury the reason for posting release candidates is that the package has on a number of occasions been flagged when a new RC was out (regardless of it being stable or not), which is why there used to be a stable package alongside this.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but you could always try building with the previous PKGBUILD, available if you clone the AUR repository.

The current version (0.34.0rc5-1) just gives me an error when I try to start it up. When I asked on the Discord server, @EF#0544 said "That version should never have been posted to the AUR. It's not ready yet and is trying to use servers that aren't ready"

Thanks @EnigmaCurry, this has been corrected in the latest release.

This creates a package with an invalid symlink, should point to uppercase LBRY not lowercase lbry:

@clue404 - Thank you! I've added gconf as a dependency.

As for the issue regarding daemon exit, you should check your running processes with "ps aux | grep lbry" and check for any instances extra or already running.

Closing them and starting lbry again should resolve this issue.

gconf is missing as dependency

and I get this error:

Daemon: [1881] Failed to execute script cli

Daemon: Traceback (most recent call last): File "lbrynet/extras/cli.py", line 284, in <module> File "lbrynet/extras/cli.py", line 256, in main File "lbrynet/extras/cli.py", line 102, in start_daemon_with_cli_args File "lbrynet/extras/cli.py", line 50, in start_daemon File "lbrynet/conf.py", line 666, in initialize_settings File "lbrynet/conf.py", line 288, in init File "lbrynet/conf.py", line 97, in get_linux_directories AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'group'

And also a Popup with this:

Daemon has Exited

The daemon may have encountered an unexpected error, or another daemon instance is already running.

For mor information ...

I hope someone can pick this up until the devs pickup AppImage or snaps...

EDIT: Nevermind -- its a snap package now. EDIT2: Nevermind about the Nevermind, its not an official snap and its outdated to the point of being broken. So.. this package is still needed .. :(

Upon execution of lbry-daemon, it crashes with:
