@maddien - The BFQ problem could be due to something in your grub or grub2 kernel line directing the kernel to use it? Or it could be something in your /etc/rc.local doing the same. Dunno what to tell you about the audigy thing. Can you do a small test for me? 1) make sure you're booted into the linux-ck package with this audigy bug 2) cd /path/to/linux-ck 3) wget http://repo-ck.com/junk/maddien_troubleshooting.patch 4) patch -p0 -i maddien_troubleshooting.patch 5) makepkg -srci The patch simple comments out the bfs patching so you are essentially building the ARCH vanilla kernel except it will use your currently running kernel's config file thus retaining all your customizations. Once you build it and install it, reboot and see if the problem is gone. If it is gone, the problem is with ck's bfs patch. If it is not gone, then the problem is with your customizations (if you did any). Do so and report back plz.

with linux-ck 3.2-1 my audigy 2ZS doesn't get recognised in the sound settings and doesn't produce any output. at bootup it says that it couldn't find BFQ. didn't try to disable BFQ, tho. linux 3.2-1 is fine.

Ah, indeed there were. Thanks!

@Zom - glad to hear the broadcom-wl-ck package works now. Search in the forums, there are several threads on the brcmsmac module.

Zom commented on 2012-01-06 21:03 (UTC)

brcmsmac seems to either be missing or has been removed from the kernel tree. Scumming through the lkml notice, I don't see anything about it. wl works too, sure, but it'd be nice to know if this is as intended or not. :)

Bump to v3.2.0-1 Notes: This release only contains bfs v0.416 since CK has not yet released the ck1 patchset. This release also does NOT contain the optional BFQ I/O scheduler because Paolo has not yet released it for the 3.2 tree. Also know that the broadcom-wl-ck package is currently broken (does not compile with 3.2). If you depend on wireless based on the wl module do not update at this time. Someone please flag out-of-date once ck has released the ck1 patchset for the 3.2 tree if I don't get to it first. All other files are in place.

@yang - will change in the upcoming 3.2.0 release @fincan - technically not outofdate until the arch deva release their config and config.x86_64 which I'll be watching out for through out the day here. Also, ck has yet to release the ck1 patch, he has thus far just released the bfs for the new kernel.

Why not use tar.xz instead of tar.bz2. The previous is smaller.
