Note for anyone who has a Polaris GPU (Radeon RX 5xx) debugging issues with this package; Packages that use OpenCL like clinfo or davinci-resolve-studio will need you to downgrade opencl-amd to 1:5.7.1-1 as well as amdgpu-pro-oglp to 23.10_1620044-1 to avoid coredumps & segfaults.

DVR would not open unless these 2 packages were downgraded (along with their dependencies). Had to figure it out the hard way after hours using valgrind and rebooting over and over. Hopefully someone else will not have to pull their hair out trying to resolve their issue.

Thanks for reporting. The file is located under '/usr/share/libdrm' with the upstream libdrm package and I've just linked it accordingly. However, Alex Deucher also started pushing the libdrm changes by AMD which are required for their hybrid stack publicly[1]. It should now be possible to stop this approach for the OpenCL driver and replace libdrm with libdrm-amd[2]. The hybrid branch at [3] is intended to work with that (also includes Vulkan), but I've had no time to test things yet. I've set the linux-amd-mainline-git kernel as a dependency, which can be found in the AUR[4] and is also pushed out publicly now. I believe the source directory has changed in the package, as a quick workaround I just made the directory and created a symlink to the copy on my system and it seems to be working fine. I didn't have a copy of the file in /opt where it was expected, in fact the directory didn't exist on my system. With the latest upgrade, openCL apps are complaining about /opt/amdgpu-pro/share/libdrm/amdgpu.ids: No such file or directory And segfault

I have a fresh system install which I did 2-3 days ago to test this with an AMD RX550. "lspci -k" shows that the device is recognized and using the amdgpu driver: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Polaris12 (rev c7) Subsystem: Device 1da2:e367 Kernel driver in use: amdgpu Kernel modules: amdgpu But "clinfo" shows the platform with name "AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing" with only 1 device, which is the CPU of the system. What am I doing wrong? BTW, AMD seems to have a slightly newer version of the driver here: https://www2.ati.com/drivers/linux/ubuntu/amdgpu-pro-17.10-450821.tar.xz.

I was trying to set this up on a friend's computer running Manjaro and I get an error while running clinfo: amdgpu_device_initialize: DRM version is 2.49.0 but this driver is only compatible with 3.x.x.

@leidola: thanks for the update, you could always create a PR ;-) The mid-term target for me would be to actually remove the libdrm fiddling and depend on packages like libdrm-amd (they released libdrm code for their hybrid stack recently*) and linux-amd (mainline). It could be acquired from upstream or extracted from the -pro stack

For me OpenCL apps don't detect GPUs without libdrm installed.
