To maintain behavior pre-HPN17v0, install openssh-hpn-shim.

I get an error while updating to the latest version, it seems the checksums do not match:

==> Validating source files with sha512sums...
    hpn-8_7_P1.tar.gz ... FAILED
    openssh-tests-scp.patch ... Passed
    glibc-2.31.patch ... Passed
    sshdgenkeys.service ... Passed
    sshd@.service ... Passed
    sshd.service ... Passed
    sshd.socket ... Passed
    sshd.pam ... Passed

When running

sha512sum hpn-8_7_P1.tar.gz
I get:
9c1c2246b9ba75bcc0d346a1bd694293b581d2173d3c1e6d5b9e12bbe3dcf4466c4977e93529f8ae299515a87b13c22ac7dc533081e4e1e8ce898be5ebba6e59 hpn-8_7_P1.tar.gz
Is this something I need to fix on my end?

Just rebuilt it from a couple of different European locations without modification and it went through just fine™.

hpn-8_5_P1.tar.gz hashes also fail, I've asked upstream if they could sign releases so we wouldn't have to rely on hashes for integrity checks, and bonus we'd have authenticity checks too

Do not abuse out-of-date flagging to remark on packaging shortcomings (and attempt to drive your point further than it needs to be driven), I do acknowledge and reciprocate to comments as promptly as I can.

I cant package because it conflicts with itself failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies: openssh-hpn)

hpn-8_4_P1.tar.gz sha256sums also fail

Yeah, looks like Chris applied the double-define patch and comment from May into the HPN patchset and moved the tag. Thanks!

Getting a sha256sum fail on hpn-8_3_P1.tar.gz. Is it possible the package was updated just before https://github.com/rapier1/openssh-portable/commit/4afe5ad21dd5a9a01cda3007cdd0af5bbe6b608c which then changed the hash?

Based on:

I would think so.

Initially found it odd, when comparing to upstream OpenSSH, but useful for learning what kind of sshd I'm currently interacting with and whether I should expect patch-specific behavior.

I keep seeing string:

SSH: Server;Ltype: Version;Remote: 192.168.0.250-22;Protocol: 2.0;Client: OpenSSH_8.1p1-PKIXSSH-12.3-hpn14v20 PKIX[12.3]

On every login, looks like debug log string leaked to console for some reason. Is it expected behavior?
