I've tried to update yesterday, it would not work as it was saying that the installed version was newer that the one provided by aur (though I had updated cache first). The solution was to empty yay cache.

@patlefort Thankyou for the suggestion, i believe the issue now should be fixed

The maintainer of this package need to add it and fix the pkgver, rerun the pkgver function and update this package with a fixed pkgver variable and updated .SRCINFO. Refer to https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VCS_package_guidelines#Git

@patlefort, Adding --abbrev=7 to git describe in PKGBUILD doens't work...

The paru script while running says over and over that it's reinstalling, but in reality iit'snot installing at all, that's why it keeps trying. The ackage that runs is the older one. Blocking execution of the upgrade for now in the /etc/pacman.conf.

One day later, the helpful folks on the endeavor blog have suggested several remedies, including rebuilding all Python based apps given the recent updates to Python. Nothing so far fixes this.

For several system upgrade cycles on three different machines over today (12-25-24), running Endeavor Linux, the current build of playonlinux keeps reinstalling, over and over.

Can you please fix the pkgver function? It can't contain + characters. Also, it's recommended to add --abbrev=7 to git describe.

there is a discrepancy between the pkgver in the PKGBUILD vs. the .SRCINFO which is causing pamac to be unhappy. If you could fix that would be helpful. thanks!
