That explains why the package failed to build.
@Strykar i already considered replacing it with sha256, i just thought about the best way to do it without generating doubt that i tempered with the supplementary.tar.zst.
I mean you can still see the md5sum in the git history, so if someone is in doubt they should be able to confirm it.
The tarballs md5 is actually 2a5c84ae1e56bcc51d1aa54957d30bd6
I imagine that all these errors occur unexpectedly because GE releases hotfixes by replacing the tarball instead of uploading as a new file, so the URL is reused. This means that for every hotfix released, you have to update the PKGBUILD unfortunately.

Still getting the error - it built yesterday but today:

You were right, for some reason i included the wrong checksum.
Strangely enought, it worked for me yesterday while rebuilding twice.
6.1-GE-1_1 is failing validity check for me.
It does indeed fail if i build it inside a chroot. But since the gid should stay the same anyway(and normally shouldn't be changed from a user) i changed it to gid 50.
@Morganamilo maybe that was the same problem that you had?
Could you use the fixed group id 50 instead of "games"? Otherwise, this won't build in a chroot environment.
@gameslayer: HTTP Error 416 is an error that can randomly occur when something goes wrong with a download, usually as a result of a caching error as I understand it. There's nothing wrong with the PKGBUILD, you should try again later.

The "chaotic-aur" co-maintainer is a bot that pulls any merged PR in https://github.com/chaotic-aur/pkgbuild-proton-ge-custom-bin back to this package. So if you guys have contributions or bump versions earlier than the maintainer, please share them as PRs. The commits will keep your authorship.
