Finnaly got it to work. I downloaded libssl1.0.0_1.0.1-4ubuntu5.39_amd64.deb from http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/o/openssl/libssl1.0.0_1.0.1-4ubuntu5.39_amd64.deb then i extracted the data archive into my / (2 folders lib and usr). After extracting these 2, i downloaded the archive for SecureCRT and ir now runs!

The libopenssl-1.0-compalibopenssl-1.0-compat is no longer available, and the workaround doesn't work anymore. Could you please update this? :)

Thank you @archshot! that did the trick.

@gtolson @rusty Install libopenssl-1.0-compat (from AUR) and run 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/openssl-1.0-compat/ SecureCRT'. It then works for me. I've uploaded a 'scrt-sfx' package here which bundle both scrt and sfx and uses the above workaround - you can give it a try if you want.

I am having the same issues as @rusty after the last update. Tried the work around from @bubbles but issue remains. Running SecureCRT 8.1.2 was working prior to pacman -Syu done on 4/24, perhaps related to the latest openssl update? any suggestions? ** Without workaround ~]$ SecureCRT /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT) /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT) ** ** with workaound ~]$ env LD_PRELOAD="/usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0/libssl.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0/libcrypto.so.1.0.0" SecureCRT /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT: /usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0/libssl.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT) /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT: /usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT)

@rusty Try this. mkdir /usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0 cp /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0 cp /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/securecrt/openssl-1.0 cd /usr/lib/securecrt env LD_PRELOAD="$(pwd)/openssl-1.0/libssl.so.1.0.0 $(pwd)/openssl-1.0/libcrypto.so.1.0.0" SecureCRT

rusty commented on 2017-04-24 22:38 (UTC)

Can you update it to the latest 8.1.1 version ? after the last updates I get this error /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT: /usr/lib/libssl.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT) /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1.0.0: version `OPENSSL_1.0.0' not found (required by /usr/lib/securecrt/SecureCRT)

I just managed to install SecureCRT on 64 bit Arch so I thought I would explain what I did to help others: yaourt -S scrt Abort the install after editing the PKGBUILD. The PKGBUILD is now saved in /tmp/. Download the latest tarball from: https://www.vandyke.com/download/securecrt/download.html Move into the folder with the PKGBUILD: 'cd /tmp/yaourt-tmp-headknot/aur-scrt' Copy the tarball to the folder: 'cp ~/Downloads/scrt-8.0.3.1183.ubuntu14-64.tar.gz /tmp/yaourt-tmp-headknot/aur-scrt' Check the md5sum that will replace the current one in the PKGBUILD: 'md5sum scrt-8.0.3.1183.ubuntu14-64.tar.gz' vi PKGBUILD Change the values of pkgver/incrver and md5sums_x86_64 You will also need to change the ubuntu version number on the row above the md5sum. save/quit 'makepkg -i' After this it seemed to install correctly but I still could not run SecureCRT. Turns out I was missing something called 'libpng12'. 'yaourt -S libpng12' Everything seems to be running now.

Please read the PKGBUILD, it has the instructions.
