After upgrading cairo package from 1.14.10-1 -> 1.15.8-2 I get the following output on terminal and singularity fails to start:
Running from /opt/singularityviewer

Downgrading cairo resolves the issue. Upstream is looking a bit dead. Anything you can do to help with this?

Any chance of getting an alpha package with a compatible harfbuzz like you did for the released version?

The afore-mentioned merge request was sent.
GordonGR commented on 2017-03-28 11:55 (UTC)
I requested this package to be merged into the singularityviewer-alpha one. Please use that instead.

One comment: For a long time, upstream had stopped issuing Linux versions of the viewer in the "alpha" line, and just issued them in the "test" line; so I had created the singularityviewer-test package. Now they seem to have reinstated the "alpha" line. I will wait until the next update to confirm it, but, if I do confirm it, I will ask the -test package to be merged into this one.

The package now shows to the Nightly Builds, since that's all upstream gives us nowadays :)
