I face build fail issue, the workaround is: it should do the following command in root before build this package.
if [
id -u
-eq 0 ]; then \ getent group stapusr >/dev/null || groupadd -g 156 -r stapusr 2>/dev/null || groupadd -r stapusr; \ getent group stapusr >/dev/null \ && chgrp stapusr "/home/dlin/tmp/systemtap-git/pkg/systemtap-git/usr/bin/stapbpf" \ && chmod 04110 "/home/dlin/tmp/systemtap-git/pkg/systemtap-git/usr/bin/stapbpf"; \ fiideal commented on 2018-12-17 03:22 (UTC)

Configure options should be appended by --sbindir=/usr/bin in consideration of /usr/sbin being a symlink to /usr/bin and causes a conflict on installation.
