Looks like Todoist has moved to a .net TLD and slightly changed the URL pattern but putting the build arch at the end. They've also started using sha512 sums for validation. Here's the update I had to make to the PKGBUILD for 8.14.1:

Since 8.8.2-1
appimagelauncher
became optional dependency, please let me know if it breaks your experience.kostrse commented on 2023-09-22 03:40 (UTC) (edited on 2023-09-22 03:41 (UTC) by kostrse)
Regarding dependency on
appimagelauncher
.It was mentioned in the comments below that in some environments (e.g. Xfce) Todoist requires the
appimagelauncher
to work. This also mentioned on their website here.On the other hand, in KDE, at least for me, Todoist seems to work perfectly fine without
appimagelauncher
.Also,
appimagelauncher
is a kinda intrusive/opinionated application, which affects how AppImage works on the system, not only Todoist.Does it make sense to make it an optional dependency, to not force it on users who do not experience any problems? Or does it make sense to introduce a separate AUR package without dependency on it (e.g.
todist-appimage-nolauncher
)?kostrse commented on 2023-09-22 03:34 (UTC) (edited on 2023-09-22 03:34 (UTC) by kostrse)
Hello, this package was orphan, so I took ownership over it and updated to the latest release version.
Please let me know if it if you experience any problems.
Also, please feel free to reach me if you would want to become a co-maintainer.

Hi blacky17 I might not be the maintainer but I solved it the exact same way.
Since it's just an appimage, which the PKGBUILD is downloading and extracting the sources to the specified paths, I couldn't think of any more solutions.
This is clearly the easiest solutions, I could also think of.

I'm rather an AUR noob, but I seemingly got it working by simply adapting the download URL (including "linux-<arch>-" now), version and hash. details can be seen in the git diff below:
if there's any problem with this solution, I'm glad to learn about it. :-)

The new 8.2.0 release might require a bit more tweaking than just version and hashsum bump. As for why the version suddenly jumped from 1.1.2 to 8.2.0, here's the explanation from Todoist:
"Last week, we introduced a new versioning strategy that ensures consistency, simplifies communication, and makes maintenance easier. From now on, we will be using the same version number for all platforms. That is why the Linux version had such a big jump, this is not indicative of a major change, but simply aligning with the versions from other platforms."
