The new 8.2.0 release might require a bit more tweaking than just version and hashsum bump. As for why the version suddenly jumped from 1.1.2 to 8.2.0, here's the explanation from Todoist:
"Last week, we introduced a new versioning strategy that ensures consistency, simplifies communication, and makes maintenance easier. From now on, we will be using the same version number for all platforms. That is why the Linux version had such a big jump, this is not indicative of a major change, but simply aligning with the versions from other platforms."

Hey, does anyone know how to start todoist in tray on startup? i added the command env DESKTOPINTEGRATION=false /usr/bin/todoist %u --no-sandbox %U but it just opens the main window in front. Is there any flag or something to make it start in tray? cheers

Hi E3LDDfrK,
Glad it's working for you! I do hope the variable could be avoided, as I think the same implies disabling some features

Thanks, tianruiwei. Seems to work. I installed the
appimagelauncher
package, not the git version.Without
appimagelauncher
: I get the desktop integration prompt mentioned below.With
appimagelauncher
: I don't get the prompt.Could be just a coincidence. Haven't tried to install this
todoist-appimage
package in clean chroot. Not sure if that's the right way to diagnose the problem.And of course you can always try the
DESKTOPINTEGRATION=false
environment variable tip from below. I personally haven't tried it.edit: I was wrong on this. The
DESKTOPINTEGRATION=false
is in the provided .desktop entry file. And it doesn't help unlessappimagelauncher
is also installed.tianruiwei commented on 2022-02-20 11:42 (UTC)
Hi @E3LDDfrK,
Could you try to install https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/appimagelauncher-git and see what happens? I'm on gnome desktop and when I install xfce and switch over, I couldn't reproduce your problems (could be that I already installed some pre-requisite packages.
Thanks

For what it's worth. I still got this error with this version 1.0.5.
I'm on xfce if it matters.

No worries, tianruiwei. Real life takes priorities. I can always install/update the package myself manually. Thanks for updating it.

Hi lkrms, E3LDDfkR,
Sorry I've been away for a while, I've updated the PKGBUILD. Your issues will be solved.
