Before running makepkg, you must do this (as normal user):

$ gpg --auto-key-locate nodefault,wkd --locate-keys torbrowser@torproject.org

If you want to update tor-browser from AUR without AUR helpers you can run in a terminal:

$ tor-browser -u

Getting the same build complaint as described by @norse, except for 11.5.7:

"The files https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/11.5.7/tor-browser-linux32-11.5.7_en-US.tar.xz https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/11.5.7/tor-browser-linux32-11.5.7_en-US.tar.xz.asc https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/11.5.7/tor-browser-linux64-11.5.7_en-US.tar.xz https://dist.torproject.org/torbrowser/11.5.7/tor-browser-linux64-11.5.7_en-US.tar.xz.asc can not be downloaded, and thus the package fails to install."

Edit: the current version is 11.5.8 - just change the PKGBUILD to download the correct version.

Hello, this needs to depend on ffmpeg4.4. Tor Browser uses the system's ffmpeg (they do not provide their own currently), so it needs to depend on an ffmpeg. And the version of Firefox it uses currently doesn't support ffmpeg 5.0, so it can't depend on ffmpeg right now, it needs to depend on ffmpeg4.4 for the time being.

@yar I don't see the point of the torbrowser-launcher

yar commented on 2022-05-26 16:43 (UTC)

Why is he still at AUR? He belongs in the community repo!

I am unable to play H.264 video even after installing gst-libav and gst-plugins-good. html5test.com reports no H.264 support.

Edit: The solution was installing ffmpeg4.4
