@gwash I thought that too at first, but I'm using X11 as far as I know - my xinitrc is executed and I'm running the i3 window manager (which doesn't run on wayland).
Upwork support recommended running export XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 before running upwork in the terminal. I haven't had an opportunity to try that yet, but maybe it would solve the problem since my XDG_SESSION_TYPE is currently set to tty. You could try it out though and post here if it works for you.

@borisjoffe, I have the same problem, and it's related to Arch Linux switching to Wayland. They are working on a fix.
@msheremet I just checked the app logs and system journal and it doesn't look like there's anything relevant in there

Hi, for some reason the Upwork app is not able to take screenshots properly - in the app, the screenshot appears blank (gray rectangle) and online, the screenshots are just images that say, "Failed to take screenshot".
The app worked properly on my old computer with Arch Linux. Upwork support claims that Arch Linux isn't supported.
I'm using the latest version, 5.1.0.647-1.
Does anyone have the same issue or know how to fix it?
@msheremet: Thanks for the tip; I did, and I see that the upwork package is at the same version now. Actually, when I made the changes I cheated and used bits from lybin and from debtap. The latter pulled in WAY too many dependencies. I'm going to copy lybin's current PKGBUILD and use it as a template for the next version, in case upwork goes back to having a stable and beta again. I usually run beta anyway.
