@BlackIkeEagle I'm using Cinnamon. This was an issue a few years ago with some, but not all, apps. Back then, a reboot solved it, making them reappear. I doubt what caused it back then is the same as now, as a reboot makes no difference and I've not had this issue for a long time with any app whatsoever other than just now with vivaldi-snapshot.

@themolco could you paste the terminal output when it can't access your profile?

@theforeigner could you be more specific, what desktop environment are you using. I personally had no issues with the update on i3-wm and plasma-desktop

@themolco What you describe as being "the only" problem, is a deal breaker for me. I don't understand the point of this change, as it renders Vivaldi unusable. It's not just something that affects us who've used Vivaldi in the past - I tried uninstalling it and making a clean install and it still won't show up in the start menu.

Today's fix makes the build look for the /usr/.../vivaldi-snapshot installation and link to it from /opt/.../vivaldi-snapshot with any luck this will work, but if not, you can point your shortcuts to /opt/vivaldi-snapshot/vivaldi-snapshot (or wherever yours ends up). the only problem i'm having is it can't access my profile.

Todays update didn't fix it, Vivaldi disappears when installing it and I have to downgrade to get it back.

Whatever changes were made, upgrading the package made it disappear. Had to downgrade to v1.3.551.37 to get it working again.

latest pkgbuild moves install location, app disappears from menus/lists.

@alleut No, this will be the latest released snapshot, no mixing with stable and beta
