@Kevdog, Because this package is compiled against the specific Kernel package version currently in the Arch repos, whenever a kernel update gets posted to the Arch repos (which happened a couple of days ago), this package goes out-of-date until a new version is compiled, tested, and posted to the arch-zfs repo that corresponds to the correct kernel version.

I was not using
archzfs
repo and did not add any mirrors forzfs-linux
installation. I am installing it directly from AUR byyay
. I will try to add mirrors forarchzfs

Yes, I'm using the archzfs repo and I just wait until the
zfs-linux
andzfs-linux-lts

@Egns Are you using one of the zfs-linux mirrors? If you are, I think you likely are upgrading just inside the mirror update time. There is a lag between when a new version is pushed to the zfs-linux master and when it gets percolated out to all the mirrors. For instance, my mirror updates on a random minute every hour, so there is some lag between when a package gets pushed by the maintainer and when the package is available on the mirror pacman/yay are looking at.

How do you upgrade your system when a new kernel is released and
zfs-linux
was just updated to depend on that new kernel version?So, like in this case:
(1) Previously installed version of
zfs-linux
depends onlinux=5.13.4.arch1-1
(2) New kernel
5.13.5.arch1.1-1
is released(3)
zfs-linux's
PKGBUILD gets updated to depend on the latest kernel version5.13.5.arch1.1-1
(4) Now, when trying to upgrade the system by running
yay
, the following error is thrownSo, what do you do in this case? Do you delete
zfs-linux
and upgrade the system and install it back? Or there is some other way to upgrade kernel andzfs-linux

linux kernel 5.13.5.arch1-1 was released on 26 Jul

Seems a lot of improvements have been made. Will wait with flagging as Linux 5.13 hasn't been released yet in the main repo. :)
