I tried to set the screen capture mode
to Pipewire Mode
but it does not work for me. I use Sway, the screen sharing works with Firefox and OBS so I think it's still an issue with Zoom.

Ah brilliant. Thank you @VanClaussen and @erbrecht. I can confirm it's working for me now too. I did some testing on two systems, and I didn't need to modify ~/.config/zoomus.conf
, nor set an environment variable. The only change required was setting Screen capture mode on Wayland
to Pipewire Mode
as per @VanClaussen's comment.
@edh It would be helpful to pin a comment, at least linking to the wiki entry.

The share selection is now working for me as well, someone in the forums mentioned that he had to set the wayland sharing option to pipewire in the settings. Located at Settings -> Screen Share -> Advanced

@Rhinoceros I'm using Wayland on Gnome as well.

@Rhinoceros - I finally got screen sharing to work under KDE with Wayland. Looks like I'm using the same versions as you:
- Zoom 6.2.10
- pipewire 1.2.6
I followed the Screen share section on the Zoom wiki page:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Zoom_Meetings
The only thing I didn't need to do was set XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=gnome. I followed the other steps, and now I can choose my desktop/window to share. Prior to following the wiki I couldn't stop screen sharing without the hanging issue, which I was experiencing prior to 6.2.10.

@VanClaussen, yes, I switched to Manjaro testing some weeks ago. Curiously, though, I never had any problems with the screen share selection – on both stable and testing. What window manager are you using? I am on gnome (gnome-shell 1:47.1-1 with gdm 47.0-1), using a wayland only setup (wayland 1.23.1-1) with minimal x11 libraries installed.

I also still can't pick which window to share with Zoom 6.2.10. I'm also on the latest pipewire 1.2.6. After selecting "Use system window capture", there's a confirmation box from the DE saying "Remote control requested", then Zoom just shares all my screens.
I'm using Wayland on KDE, @arash-m, what are you using?
VanClaussen commented on 2024-11-18 14:32 (UTC)
Okay I'm on 1.2.5. Polly seems to be on Manjaro testing, I'm on stable. @Polly selecting what to share does work for you? Depending on the answer, my client will then be fixed after the next stable release of Manjaro hopefully.
arash-m commented on 2024-11-18 14:20 (UTC)
@VanClaussen I'm using the latest, 1.2.6. In Zoom, from the screen share window, I choose "Use system window capture", and then I can select individual windows there.
VanClaussen commented on 2024-11-18 14:17 (UTC)
Can confirm, it doesn't crash anymore after stop, but I still can't choose what to share, it always shares all screens. arash-m what pipewire versions are you using?
