First of all, please set the locale to C before posting errors, makes it easier to understand (e.g. by calling 'export LC_ALL=C' first or by running makepkg as 'LC_ALL=C makepkg'). To fix the problem, update muffin-git first and then update cinnamon-git. It is because latest cinnamon requires a change in muffin.

With the 20120308-1 update, running 'cinnamon-menu-editor' gave an error when it tried to import gtk. For anyone else that runs into this problem, I fixed it by changing "#! /usr/bin/python -OOt" to "#! /usr/bin/python2 -OOt" in /usr/bin/cinnamon-menu-editor.

cinnamon-menu-editor was added. A line to replace /usr/bin/python to /usr/bin/python2 is needed in package(). sed -i 's|^\(#!.*python\)$|\12|g' \ "${pkgdir}/usr/bin/cinnamon-extension-tool" \ "${pkgdir}/usr/lib/cinnamon-settings/cinnamon-settings.py" \ "${pkgdir}/usr/bin/cinnamon-settings" \ "${pkgdir}/usr/bin/cinnamon-menu-editor"

Please note that cinnamon depends on python2 not python, which is python3.

@krzd I'll agree with that, I was just looking into his question. Cinnamon should list somewhere what there dependencies are.
