Just tried installing it, got this error:

mv: cannot stat '/home/silvolde/.cache/paru/clone/davinci-resolve/src/squashfs-root/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0': No such file or directory ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in prepare(). Aborting... error: failed to build 'davinci-resolve-19.0-4': error: packages failed to build: davinci-resolve-19.0-4

maybe try including this library if you aren't already doing that? @satriani

Sorry guys. I hope everything works this time. The problem is, I can't test it locally at the moment.

The latest push fixed the symlink error for me, but now has a new error (1/5) Reloading device manager configuration... Failed to wait for daemon to reply: Connection timed out error: command failed to execute correctly

@kapy2121 Thanks for updating that directory, I tried that as well, but I think because the install fails, the other required files aren't prepared and so that may fix issues after a complete install, but not before

Is there any part in the PKGBUILD I can edit to get this working before the maintainer fixes it?

qwkrft commented on 2024-08-28 20:29 (UTC)

@amiroof I have the same error using yay. Hopefully there is a fix.

I'm trying to install this using paru, but I get a ln: failed to create symbolic link '/home/amiroof/.cache/paru/clone/davinci-resolve/src/squashfs-root/libs/libgio-2.0.so': File exists error. Is there any fix?

qwkrft commented on 2024-08-26 08:24 (UTC)

@Kapy2121 Seems like I have a different error. My /opt/davinci directory does not have the installer file. Funnily enough it has the desktop shortcut that is mean to execute the same command you said to do, but it just isn't there! I guess I'll wait and see if the maintainer comes up with a fix for my original issue

If davinci-resolve doesnot open after installing from aur try running /opt/resolve/bin/resolve

==>if the output comes like this /opt/resolve/bin/resolve: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name

==>try running this sudo cp /usr/lib/libgio-2.0.so /opt/resolve/libs && sudo cp /usr/lib/libgmodule-2.0.so /opt/resolve/libs

This command helped me open davinci-resolve normally without messing with any gpu drivers or anything.

And this message is to the maintainer and submitter please include libgio-2.0.so and libgmodule-2.0.so in the lib directory
edit: It was my mistake I previously wrote /opt/resolve/installer which should be /opt/resolve/bin/resolve. I am so sorry

@qwkrft if you again see this please try again

When trying to install the new version release I get this error every time: (1/5) Reloading device manager configuration... Timed out for waiting the udev queue being empty. error: command failed to execute correctly I haven't been able find any information online and the only results for udev queue error are for booting a distro or instlling ubuntu.
