@Kapy2121 Seems like I have a different error. My /opt/davinci directory does not have the installer file. Funnily enough it has the desktop shortcut that is mean to execute the same command you said to do, but it just isn't there! I guess I'll wait and see if the maintainer comes up with a fix for my original issue

If davinci-resolve doesnot open after installing from aur try running /opt/resolve/bin/resolve
==>if the output comes like this /opt/resolve/bin/resolve: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name
==>try running this sudo cp /usr/lib/libgio-2.0.so /opt/resolve/libs && sudo cp /usr/lib/libgmodule-2.0.so /opt/resolve/libs
This command helped me open davinci-resolve normally without messing with any gpu drivers or anything.
And this message is to the maintainer and submitter please include libgio-2.0.so and libgmodule-2.0.so in the lib directory
edit: It was my mistake I previously wrote /opt/resolve/installer
which should be /opt/resolve/bin/resolve
. I am so sorry
@qwkrft if you again see this please try again

When trying to install the new version release I get this error every time: (1/5) Reloading device manager configuration...
Timed out for waiting the udev queue being empty.
error: command failed to execute correctly
I haven't been able find any information online and the only results for udev queue error are for booting a distro or instlling ubuntu.

How long would it take for this package to be updated to version 19?
MrDoboz commented on 2024-08-24 20:45 (UTC) (edited on 2024-08-24 20:46 (UTC) by MrDoboz)
my solution to version mismatch:
1.: echo out $_pkgver before version check
2.: modify major_version and minor_version accordingly (for me it's 19.0 and 0)
3.: run makepkg
4.: a zip will download, but it will fail checksum (obviously) and halt the process.
5.: extract the zip file and follow the pdf instructions. you don't need makepkg or pacman
...
6.: do some troubleshooting removing some included libraries that will likely crash on startup. more on that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fedora/comments/12z32r1/comment/ks8jzh7/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
7.: profit!

Hi, I am trying to install and it gives the version mismatch error. What do I have to do?
amfern commented on 2024-08-24 07:29 (UTC)
HI couldn't install this package, because it is attempting to download the latest release, which doesn't make sense.
Could you please accept this Patch which removes the latest release check?

Subject: [PATCH] remove the latest version check
The current behavior is attempting to download the latest version of
davinci-resolve and refuses to install it.
After this change it would download the specific version declared by downloadId

Stop bothering the pkgbuild maintainer.
This was flagged today
@Peach Comments are not for reporting new versions, there is "Flagged out-of-date" for that
@astro pkgbuilds was already flagged OOD, there was already a comment about the new version
Not giving even one day and already coming here complaining
You are registered here since 7 and 9 years respectively you should know by now.
