I was able to reproduce the pattern @shillshocked and @vishvas describes:
I am using yay for AUR packages and had in yay cache the build files from an older version. I defaulted into using these files (instead of clean build) and got the error "ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!".
I added the version number to the downloaded source file, the issue with wrong a checksum should now be mitigated.

Same problem here on fresh install:
Leaving uninstalled for now due to security concerns.

Hi vishvas, I cannot recreate your problem: I am able to download the file and to pass the chesum validation. I assume that the download of the file extension.xpi on your installation attempt was corrupted and the therefore the checksum validation failed. Please retry the installation and let me know if the issue still persists.
