I tried to build it in a clean chroot with extra-x86_64-build and it worked, so it was probably caused by my setup, not the package.

Please run makepkg with -L and poste the log somewhere ( not here).

I'm getting
checking for ld...
DEBUG: Executing: `/usr/lib/hardening-wrapper/bin/gcc -print-prog-name=ld.gold`
DEBUG: Executing: `/usr/lib/hardening-wrapper/bin/gcc -std=gnu99 -B /tmp/yaourt-tmp-username/aur-firefox-kde-opensuse/src/mozilla-unified/obj-x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/build/unix/gold -Wl,--version`
ERROR: Could not find gold
*** Fix above errors and then restart with\
"make -f client.mk build"
make[2]: *** [/tmp/yaourt-tmp-username/aur-firefox-kde-opensuse/src/mozilla-unified/client.mk:383: configure] Fehler 1
Where should I get ld.gold from?
Thaodan commented on 2017-09-28 00:07 (UTC)
please try the latest update, it fixes the build error caused by the latest update of glib, versions that where build before the update still work so no need to rebuild for that.
Also some errors for skia are fixed that where caused by the latest update.

If you want help post a full log somewhere, I can make a sense of that snippet.
I try a full rebuild to see is there a any errors with newer systems

I have installed 55.0.2-1. Today I would upgrade to 55.0.3-2 but it doesn't work. I don't really get an error. The console is full of warnings and the last lines are:
...

here is the log https://ptpb.pw/aj6G
edit: oh shit... apparently it failed due to lack of space again
Thaodan commented on 2017-09-24 23:31 (UTC)
the error has nothing to with this its just a coincidence when kde/baloo has some errors.
this I why I said post us your log of makepkg by -L.
