For those interested, I opened a bug-report for nodegit here: https://github.com/nodegit/nodegit/issues/1225

@kuenx for the moment we patch only the desktop file. from the shell you have to run it like this LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libcurl.so.3 gitkraken"

kuenx commented on 2017-02-23 23:53 (UTC)

I get this error after updating to the latest version and GitKraken won't launch: /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4: version `CURL_OPENSSL_3' not found (required by /opt/gitkraken/resources/app.asar.unpacked/node_modules/nodegit/build/Release/nodegit.node)

I can do it in some hours still at work.

My cat is sleeping on me, I can't commit it atm :D

MarcinWieczorek Seems libcurl-compat is in the SRCINFO missing.

I believe that has been done already.

Dear maintainer, Would you mind incorporating the fix described in previous messages into the package? I.e. could you add libcurl-compat as a dependency and swap the gitkraken symlink for a script which executes LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libcurl.so.3 gitkraken? It would make things easier. Thanks!

"Temporary workaround: $ pacman -S libcurl-compat $ LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libcurl.so.3 gitkraken" and "To solve this for now, I changed the Exec line in `/usr/share/applications/GitKraken.desktop` to `Exec=bash -c "LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libcurl.so.3 gitkraken"`." worked fine for me, though I'm using the tar file from the gitkraken page, not the AUR one, I just wanted to point this out to maybe give a clue if something is still failing in the repo package.
