oh, just got it started using the other workaround in the wiki. $ optirun bash (optibash)$ gog-the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings sorry for the noise, hopefully helps someone else…

thanks for replying, stupid me found answer in the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/bumblebee#.5BVGL.5D_ERROR:_Could_not_open_display_:8 still, now i get just another message: ERROR - eON failed to initialise! beside the spelling error, what the hell is eON? sounds like something from within the game.

The libcurl message is normal, the game works here with my optimus laptop (with the primusrun command). lib32-curl is not needed.

the game wont start for me, on my optimus card. i start it using optirun and yield: Running The Witcher 2 Assassins Of Kings Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module" ** Message: window size should be 487x713 ./witcher2: ./libcurl.so.4: no version information available (required by ./witcher2) [VGL] ERROR: Could not open display :8. lib32-curl is installed (containing the 32-bit curl lib he is asking for). any hint?

OK I fixed the other parts of the PKGBUILD.

DOH! Guess I was bit to fast with my update.

mirandir commented on 2014-11-05 19:30 (UTC)

Your new PKGBUILD doesn't work. You move files but you haven't corrected the other parts of the PKGBUILD, which still try (and fail !) to copy files from ${srcdir}.

fettouhi commented on 2014-11-05 14:12 (UTC)

UPDATED: changed the copying of gamedata to move in order to speed up the package building process.

fordprefect commented on 2014-11-05 13:49 (UTC)

i'm sorry, i'll explain in more detail: in package(), the second line copies a lot of gamedata from $srcdir to $pkgdir. this takes a lot of time. moving instead of copying would be much faster, since it stays on the same physical drive. i hope, its more clear now.

I am not sure I understand your suggestion?
