I don't know why this package ask for installation (also if I have just installed) each time I want to make a system upgrade.

The last sync with upstream was a bit tricky but it should work now :)

I know that logitechmedia server is not really compliant with (any of the) archlinux standards, and therefore in some obscure past I put it in /opt. However, wouldn't it be possible to at least have it --logdir in the more obvious /var/log/logitechmediaserver and have the configuration be drawn from /etc/conf.d?

fragfutter commented on 2015-08-09 09:30 (UTC)

sorry for the fuzz. i had PERL_MM_OPT in my environment variables during build.

fragfutter commented on 2015-08-09 08:18 (UTC)

the build process installs the XS package into the users home directory ~/perl5 as build user and runtime user are different (or in my case even different machines) it will not work.

fragfutter commented on 2015-08-09 08:04 (UTC)

It's not in the package tar tJvf logitechmediaserver-7.9.0.arch2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz|grep XS.so -rwxr-xr-x root/root 59920 2015-08-09 09:48 opt/logitechmediaserver/CPAN/auto/JSON/XS/XS.so i have a build.log, in there it is build cc -shared -Wl,-O1,--sort-common,--as-needed,-z,relro -L/usr/local/lib -fstack-protector-strong Stash.o -o ../blib/arch/auto/Template/Stash/XS/XS.so and a few steps later deleted. rm -rf blib I also can't find it in the build tree.

The vendor script already builds Template 2.21, could you check /opt/logitechmediaserver/CPAN/auto/Template/Stash/XS for XS.so?

fragfutter commented on 2015-07-26 08:47 (UTC)

web interface won't work. Couldn't load Template::Stash::XS 2.21: so installed perl-template-toolkit (should be a dependency) still no luck, as perl-template-toolkit is version 2.26. need to either compile toolkit with the logitechmediaserver or use a newer version.

Hi boomshalek, this is not a problem with this package but with your perl installation. You could try to remove (pacman -R perl-scalar-list-utils) if it's present. It's provided by perl-core since 5.22. Btw. you don't have to use this Version, the "normal" Version is also compatible meanwhile. Please report back if this helps you out, this might be interesting for others.

Hi I wanted to update from standard (non-git) package to this due to the perl incompatibility. But I get: Exported revision 21376. ==> Sources fetched or server timeout ==> Starting build()...
