For updates please use the "Flag package out-of-date" button. Do not bother developers on GitHub for install issues. At least one developer have indicated that they are unwilling to work with downstream packagers that do not use their update script.

DO NOT HARASS THE DEVELOPERS. Please abide by the AUR COC. This is a package, not a battlefield. No need to be childish about this.

As of the latest update, an already logged in Microsoft account cannot refresh to connect to the servers. It always fails with

409.721 C Task "MSASilent(0x40c59820)" failed: "Microsoft user authentication ended with a network error."

Edit 13 June, 2024: It just takes a long time before auth finally works.

anilg, be careful with the official PKGBUILD. It installs into /home/.local/share and does not uninstall correctly. The MMC developers have refused to change it despite multiple complaints. They have instead threatened to sue Arch Linux/AUR maintainers for trademark infringement on their discord in the past.

I would recommend switching to PolyMC if possible. It is a true Open Source fork of MMC.

I found that multimc as installed with multimc-bin was notifying "update available". I ignored it until multimc would not run mc due to a missing library. I went over to https://github.com/MultiMC/multimc-pkgbuild and installed that and it worked. They have a notice on there: "MultiMC package for Arch Linux Avoid the AUR and use this instead. It is actually supported by the real MultiMC maintainers and community."
