The latest support Intel HDA is 0x8c20, and I am using a348. If your sound card is not listed there, it is not supported.

  • 8c20 ("8 Series/C220 Series Chipset High Definition Audio Controller")
  • a348 ("Cannon Lake PCH cAVS")

Please note that current OSS - both from [community] and AUR - does not work. See the bug report for details: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35672 The only working OSS is oss-nonfree in AUR. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/oss-nonfree/

Use oss-git: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/oss-git/ This package will be deleted.

OSS switched from Mercurial to Git: http://sourceforge.net/p/opensound/mailman/message/30289839/ The Git repo also has the patches for linux-3.8 and later.

Are you sure it doesn't depend on kernel26-headers?
