To install all versions of packettracer except 7.2.2, follow this guidelines: 1. Download the snapshot from this AUR. 2. Tar -zxf the packettracer.tar.gz snapshot (it creates the dir packettracer/ with the PKGBUILD on it). 3. Download the latest packettracer tarball from your Netacad account and copy it into the packettracer/ dir. 4. Create the package with the command makepkg (it creates a packettracer.pkg.tar.xz). 5. Install the package with either makepkg -i or sudo pacman -U packettracer.pkg.tar.xz.

Packettracer 7.2.2 are auto installable via run file, download it from netacad webpage and run it, you don't need this package.

How come libpng12 is no longer mentioned under the Package Details|Dependencies? Also does the new version of libpng12 affect packettracer?

Uh, well, sorry for this mistake.

You are using an older version. You need to go to the pt download page and download the latest. The link in the PkGBUILD is out of date, but as long as you have an account it should not be hard to find.

Downloaded (legally) and again tried to make package but still without positive result. Then I fount that in PKGBUILD there is: PacketTracer533_Generic_Fedora.tar.gz but I have: PacketTracer53_Fedora.tar.gz (a new version?) I've made new md5sum and successfully made package :)

LOL! Who told you that I'm pirate? I'm student and today teacher make class for my group. AUR is very powerful tool because it organizes every package, even with software like this, so I prefer to us it instead of untaring every package and making a big mess on my HDD :/ The problem is that if you don't read PKGBUILD document then you won't know that you have to do more than just use packer (or popular yaourt). I'm using a lot of packages from AUR and since today I didn't have problems with any installation. PS Sorry for my poor English.

Okey, thanks a lot! I think, I saw on one AURs package page additional information for people who didn't know that the should do some additional steps. I think it was something with dictionary which is updated everyday so it's hard to update PKGBUILD every day. Is it possible to put this information here for other noobs like me?

The only way to obtain the software, legally, is through the link in the PKGBUILD. Please do not pirate (or at least don't mention those activities here).
