I am aware of makepkg.conf and have set -march=native for my Westmere generation xeon as that is usually the safest.
Anyways, after doing the following:
objdump -M intel -d /usr/lib32/pcsx2/libGSdx-0.1.16.so | opcode -s AVX
That apparently the binary has AVX instructions in it (Was unaware Westmere xeons supported any AVX instructions, its not listed as supporting them)
I see it just doesn't reflect the compiled instruction set in the GUI and that is all.
Sorry for bugging you ^_^

Xaero252: Everything is always explained in the wiki, you're supposed to have read at least the first link :P

@Xaero252: How and where did you identify that GSDX was compiled with only SSE2 ?
Xaero252 commented on 2014-11-13 02:40 (UTC)
Alucryd, is it possible to enable compiling GSDX against other instruction sets on Linux? For example on Windows the resulting binary will include GSDX for SSE2,4,4.1, and AVX. On Linux I've only ever managed a resulting binary with SSE2.

sorry. I flagged the package by mistake.

gregory38 just commited all necessary fixes for PCSX2 to be built against wx3.0 on arch \o/ New PKGBUILD is up. Also I've enabled the extra plugins option, it provides the Linuz CDVD plugin.

Thing is, a lib32 package has to provide exactly the same as the regular package, that's why I used gtk2. I have no idea if PCSX2 would require gtk3, what I know is the current wxgtk needs to be patched to compile against gtk3 (I have the patch, I made some gtk3 wxgtk packages not so long ago, but turned out most apps don't like it). This is worth trying though, I'll see if I can allocate some time to this.

Really nice to know they are working on 64bit support! <oldman> And I still remember when there wasn't even 'make install' procedure in PCSX2... PKGBUILD was ugly, but at least delivered the files correctly... </oldman>
Hey, I took a look in lib32-wxgtk. I didn't try to compile, but here is a suggestion: did try to verify if lib32-wxgtk should be built with GTK3 in order to PCSX2 work?

This package now enables Cmake Package mode proper. PCSX2 will here on, be installed in the package standard folders /usr/bin, /usr/share, /usr/lib. Following the XDG standard pcsx2's config files remain in .config/PCSX2
In order to ensure a proper and clean upgrade. Uninstall this package COMPLETELY and clear cache before reinstalling.
