You should put in a check, to make sure the user is using a UTF-8 Locale; otherwise, it will fail to build.

Also, pkg-config files are not being included with the package. [Located in, build/meson-private/] They are not copied by the installer, as such a line to copy them, to "usr/lib/pkgconfig/" and symlink "pidgin-3.pc > pidgin.pc", as well as "purple-3.pc > purple.pc", would resolve it.

Thanks ^_^

Please change: source=('pidgin::hg+https://bitbucket.com/pidgin/main#branch=default') To: source=('pidgin::hg+https://bitbucket.org/pidgin/main#branch=default') Otherwise mercurial repo download fails...

Is there a way to patch pidgin+libpurple to use webkit2gtk (gtk+3 already) rather than webkitgtk? Actually Arch considers webkit1 insecure, and deprecated: https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/arch-dev-public/2017-January/028634.html

The package builds well, but you need to remove lines 95 and 96. Apparently the files to be deleted aren't there any more.

Anyone wanting to use pidgin with Skype for Business needs to be running the latest dev versions of pidgin, pidgin-sipe and libnice from https://github.com/tieto . However, you need to be careful when building pidgin-hg (after installing the tieto libnice) as it contains 2.x and 3.x (default) branches. You get a different branch when using this PKGBUILD depending on which was updated last. To force makepkg/hg to checkout the 'default', 3.x branch you need to change the source line to: source=('pidgin::hg+https://hg.pidgin.im/pidgin/main#branch=default')

The default branch now works properly against python3, please update the dependencies on python2 and python2-* to use python and python-* instead. Also webkitgtk3 has been renamed webkitgtk, and you have tk two times in makedepends.
