it is necessary to rebuild the package manually because it was returned to the original source with a lesser version than it was

This (and swaylock-effects) are currently broken for latest versions of sway. There is a fix in a PR at: https://github.com/jirutka/swaylock-effects/pull/20

Which does seem to resolve the issue (for me at least..!)

It looks like upstream isn't maintained anymore, and has been forked and updated at https://github.com/jirutka/swaylock-effects

(--screenshots flag is currently broken on swaylock-effects + newer stable versions of sway)

Is there any way we could the PKGBUILD moved to the new repo? If you don't have the time to maintain this one anymore, I'm more than happy to take over.

Please add wayland & wayland-protocols to makedepends, doesnt compile without in a clean chroot.
