@michaldybczak, have you tried recompiling the package again?

The inevitable day has come. An update made the thunderbird-appemnu not working anymore:

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/thunderbird/libxul.so: libicui18n.so.64: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Couldn't load XPCOM.

I tried to symlink libs but in the end there was an error in the reading new lib so it won't work.

There is no way I stop system updates for a half year or more because of thunderbird so I had to switch to repo version - bye bye global menus :(

Since 60.8.0 seems to last forever (newer versions don't build, maybe new patch is needed but this will be ready in 6 or more months, dependently which thunderbird version will Ubuntu 20-04 will ship with), you can download my, already compiled package here:

Or, as @nikatar said, you can download the binary file from his gitlab page:

@archieslove It was deleted by moderator @alad with wording: "The AUR is not here to self-host your own pacman packages. Host anunofficial user repository if you want to do that."

But my pacman packages were hosted on gitlab, not AUR. There was only PKGBUILD in AUR, that was copied and slightly modified from one of the most popular AUR-package at the request of firefox - firefox-kde-opensuse-bin.

I wrote to him by email to challenge this, in my opinion, an unfair decision, but there was no answer. Perhaps in the near future I will post a new binary version, but do not be duped, if it is suddenly removed. You can still download pacman package from my gitlab: https://gitlab.com/nikatar/aur-gitlab/tree/master/thunderbird-appmenu-bin.

P.S. I will update the package as soon as the patch for the new version is ready.

@nikatar What happened to the bin version ?

I created bin-version based on this package!

I was able to resolve key issue. Instead using pacman-key I had to use:

gpg --recv-key <KEYID> gpg --lsign <KEYID>

and that did the trick. Thunderbird installed correctly.

Here is what I get: ->

Found rust-1.35.patch -> Found thunderbird.desktop -> Found unity-menubar.patch ==> Checking source of files with sha256sums... thunderbird-60.8.0.source.tar.xz ... Match thunderbird-60.8.0.source.tar.xz.asc ... Skipped rust-1.35.patch ... Match thunderbird.desktop ... Match unity-menubar.patch ... It's strange. The key is exactly the same as in the original PKGBUILD from extra.
