wow64 builds can run 32-bit binaries without lib32 libraries. For more info:

This package is still relevant because the following packages do not have wow64 mode enabled and/or have not dropped lib32 depends:

  • aur/wine-git
  • aur/wine-staging-git
  • multilib/wine
  • multilib/wine-staging

  • Build options:
    • _build_git=false makepkg – Build last release version. Skips release candidates.
    • _build_staging=true makepkg – Build with staging patches.
  • Avoid flagging and commenting at the same time for the same issue.

    • Flag for common issues with known, straightforward solutions.
    • Comment for issues that require explanation or debugging.
      • Use a pastebin for blocks of text more than a few lines.
  • Avoid flagging and commenting at the same time for the same issue.

    • Do not flag or comment for broken patches. See above.
    • Flag for common issues with known, straightforward solutions.
    • Comment for issues that require explanation or debugging.
      • Use a pastebin for blocks of text more than a few lines.
  • Wayland support requires setting a registry variable. See Wine 9.0 Changelog.

What does this package makes special over the plain wine-git?

Regards!

This package has a switchable PKGBUILD. It can build wine-wow64, wine-wow64-git, wine-staging-wow64, and wine-staging-wow64-git.

Differences between this package with _build_git=false and aur/wine-wow64:

  • This package uses the release tag of git checkout. aur/wine-wow64 uses source tarball.
  • This package builds final releases only. aur/wine-wow64 is currently tracking release candidates.
  • This package autoupdates version. aur/wine-wow64 needs manual version bumps.
    • This is useful for build servers that run on schedule.

Well, why you added the _build_git variable? If you are interested to get faster updates on wine-wow64 package I can make you a co-mantainer, it would not be a problem for me.

Greetings, tiziodcaio
