The easiest way to work around this issue is to disable docs creation under Makefile in tools
So if we add this we can work around the issue.
--datadir=$(SHAREDIR)/qemu-xen \
--disable-kvm \
+ --disable-docs \

hi,
when compiling an error occurs :
./qemu-options.texi:1294: unknown command `list'
./qemu-options.texi:1294: table requires an argument: the formatter for @item
./qemu-options.texi:1294: warning: @table has text but no @item
make[3]: *** [qemu-doc.html] Error 1
I think this patch should solve the problem, but i'm not trying.
http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/222131/
Thanks.

That's not xen's fault; that's the fault of whatever package put those files there. However, if you were installing xen and iasl at the same time, then this error would appear, even though it has to do with iasl, not xen. Can you post the output of
yaourt -Qo /usr/bin/iasl
?

@deviousway,
After googling around and sourcing some info from gentoo's bug i've managed to find the problem or atleast a workaround/solution to compiling Xen.
Just like you i have a non-english system locale. sv_SE.UTF-8 to be exact.
but by doing LANG=C makepkg
I'm able to compile it successfully. Maybe the maintainer of this PKGBUILD should add LANG=C to the package() part that initiates the build to avoid this problem.
The big problem however seems to reside in python2 which pukes on non-english locales. But python2 afaik is not maintained anymore with python3 being the replacement, so might be hard to get it fixed.

As of now (2024-22-05) Xen with stubdom doesn't build because of a problem in the imported code. Been this way for about two weeks. Anyone else seeing this behavior?
Also, there is a lot of work happening on Xen in my development repo, thanks to @Serus. Check it out at: https://github.com/refutationalist/saur
