That's awesome, thanks a lot! Being able to install extra/chromium and chromium-browser-bin was a long awaited feature for me. Cheers

Happy April Fools v2015-1 everybody! This package is now pretty much re-written for the year 2015, but some visible changes include:
- Rename main script from 'chromium' to 'chromium-browser-bin' (doesn't conflict with extra/chromium anymore)
- New pkgver
- New pkgdesc
- Install in /opt, instead of /usr/lib, and remove extra hackery in main /usr/bin script
- New Home page
- Remove hard-coded "PKGEXT='.pkg.tar'" from PKGBUILD (see: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg#Create_uncompressed_packages)
- Remove 'chrome-wrapper.patch' (unnecessary tweaks) and 'chromium.1.gz' (man already provided)
- Arch-specific sources (AUR interface)
I'd also like to rename this thing to something like 'chromium-continuous(-bin)' or 'chromium-nightly' (same for 'chromium-nightly', which could be 'chromium-snapshot(-bin)'). However, _I_ can't decide, and did what we do best, and started a discussion about in [aur-general].
If you believe you should be a part of it, or are just interested in having a look, come visit us in: https://lists.archlinux.org/pipermail/aur-general/2015-April/030433.html

The "LinuxGit" and "LinuxGit_x64" are not updated. I suggest to change to "Linux" and "Linux_x64"

Would you please update the .AURINFO to fix the source link and include a proper pkgver?

How do you find the font rendering? Is there anything to do about it?

Doesn't depend on libgcrypt15 anymore.

Is there a way to have h264 decoding support for the browser ? Thanks.

Any chance this could install into a different path, so that it does not conflict with the (stable) chromium package?
kendfinger commented on 2014-06-14 03:02 (UTC)
I updated the package to use git hashes instead, which should keep it up-and-running through the big Chromium source git switch.

@Det - Nevermind. There was a process that wasn't dying so I wasn't getting a true restart of chromium. All's well.
