cpio
should be a dependency, since it's needed to install Editor modules (like Android build support)dginovker commented on 2022-02-19 05:26 (UTC)
Hub works fine, but my projects weren't opening. Ran Unity from commandline and found this:
For old editors, you probably need https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gconf

Thank you for taking over this package and getting it converted over to 3.0.1

I agree with @thereatra. Even though the package version is 3.0.1 now, the actual version of Unity Hub is still 2.4.6 :( Sorry, but I had to flag this package as out-of-date for that reason again.
I guess the only way to go is to install Unity Hub from the .deb package. @Nobbele (in the
unityhub-beta
package) and @HunabKu already showed how to achieve that, so it should be easy to implement.thereatra commented on 2022-02-04 18:06 (UTC)
I don't think the recent version bump address the unity hub version issue. The actual AppImage hub version is 2.4.6 and it doesn't support auto-updates anymore as stated when opening the hub, it instead links to the deb and rpm install instructions.

3.0.0 stable is out. Deb based (see unityhub-beta package for help)

Well, I'm not following how things are going with the new maintainers but fwiw I orphaned all the unity packages because of snarky comments like this one.
I think I was doing a decent job at keeping the thing working and up-to-date. I even continued maintaining the package for a year or so after I stopped using Arch.
If you're not happy with the current situation talk to the current maintainer or take over and do the work yourself.
Peace.

So just as with unreal-engine, this is another package that is basically broken and unmaintained.
